【社企流】比爾蓋茲投資的未來馬桶：廁所衛生新希望

世界上約有25億人口沒有乾淨廁所可以使用，也因此面臨許多潛在疾病風險。比爾蓋茲退休後所投入的蓋茲基金會舉辦「廁所創新大賽」（Reinvent the Toilet Challenge）鼓勵人們打造便宜、安全又衛生的乾式廁所，該獎的首獎頒發給加州理工學院（Caltech），其發明的創新馬桶能將尿液與糞便自動轉換成氫氣及肥料，並能自動清潔。

這種馬桶電化分解的動能來自於太陽能面板，透過電化反應裝置將排泄物分解成乾淨的固態肥料及氫氣，並儲存於燃料元件中，在陰天時可作為動力來源。經過處理的水以馬達運送到馬桶上方的儲水槽，可用於灌溉作物或其他用途。請至此閱讀全文
