先前媒體報導過一隻狗狗，在觀看阿根廷對波士尼亞的F組分組賽時，見到球員踢球立馬就會跳起。現又有一隻據信是葡萄牙「球迷」的狗狗，見到愛隊在比賽最後一刻追平時，也興奮的跳起來慶祝。

英國《每日郵報》報導，在G組賽事中，葡萄牙後補球員法雷拉(Silvestre Varela)，在下半場的傷停時間僅剩20秒時頭槌建功追平比數，使葡軍得以2:2逼和美國，在世界盃保持一線生機。

有網友上傳影片，見到一隻飾有葡萄牙國旗圍巾的拉布拉多，在電視機前聚精會神地觀看賽事，當牠看見法雷拉進球，便立即高興得跳起來，不斷揮動尾巴，興奮程度，較人類有過之而無不及。（體育中心、國際中心／綜合外電報導）
