淡江大學校長張家宜25日（當地時間）率團抵巴拉圭，並與巴拉圭國立亞松森大學簽署姊妹校協定，中華民國駐巴拉圭大使劉德立另安排訪團拜會巴拉圭眾議院議長拉米雷斯，相談甚歡。

拉米雷斯（Juan Bartolome Ramirez）藉機感謝中華民國政府與人民對巴國逾半世紀的扶攜之情，像是參眾兩院國會大廈即來自中華民國政府捐輸。

他說，近年來更透過優渥獎學金，使巴國弱勢家庭的優秀子女亦可赴台求學，接受良好教育。

劉德立則指出，累計提供巴國學子台灣獎學金逾200百名額，現有在台就學的獎學金生逾110人，足見中華民國對巴國政府與人民的重視。

張家宜則感謝拉米雷斯熱誠接待，並推崇兩國地理距離雖遙遠，而雙方政府及民間情誼篤睦，並介紹淡江大學是台灣學生人數最多的私立大學，人數超過2萬8000人，校史悠久。

她說，此行促成淡江大學與國立亞松森大學簽署姊妹校，有助師生及教學交流。(中央社)
