地面部隊戰死逾半　敘利亞政府快無兵可用

敘利亞內戰已持續超過3年，總統阿薩德(Bashar al-Assad)腹背受敵，面對叛軍與遜尼派極端武裝份子「伊斯蘭國」(IS，前稱ISIL「伊拉克與黎凡特伊斯蘭國」)步步進逼，士兵死傷慘重，政府軍人數已戰死近半，恐快將無兵可用。

戰爭研究中心(Institute for the Study of War)數據顯示，自2011年敘利亞爆發內戰以來，親政府的地面部隊人數由31.5萬人銳跌至15萬人。伊斯蘭國在部份地區殘殺政府軍，打擊軍心，而且生活環境日益惡化，增加部份親政府少數民族的不滿，進一步減少徵兵人數，令政府失去擊敗叛軍的機會。

雖然阿薩德仍然擁有一支空軍，但美軍多月來對伊斯蘭國展開空襲也沒有大進展，反映空軍也需要地面部隊支援，政府軍才可控制及鞏固領地，根據戰爭研究中心分析，敘利亞內戰僵局短期內恐怕並無解決跡象。（於慶中／綜合外電報導）
