道奇王牌Clayton Kershaw對紅雀第4戰，前6局投得虎虎生風，又在第7局被狙擊，這次遭到紅雀Matt Adams扛出一發三分彈逆轉比數，終場紅雀以3比2險勝，在系列賽以3勝1敗晉級國聯冠軍戰！

Kershaw前6局展現驚人壓制力，僅被擊出1支安打，飆出9次三振、沒有失分，卻在第7局上演首戰悲情戲碼，接連被Matt Holliday、Jhonny Peralta敲安後，挨了Adams一發全壘打，痛失3分，吞下個人生涯季後賽4連敗。

系列賽首戰道奇推Kershaw打頭陣，前半段表現穩定，卻在第7局遭到紅雀反撲，被擊出6支安打慘失6分，最終Kershaw投6.2局失8分後退場，2場比賽都在第7局遇襲，例行賽拿下21勝3敗、1.77的防禦率，季後賽卻投出7.82的防禦率，表現判若兩人。
