味噌湯是知名美食之一，但美國夏威夷有人拿味噌湯來滅火，而且成功。

據美國《赫芬頓郵報》報導，蓋納(Joy Gardner)家中的洗衣房在上周六突然起火燃燒，他的兒子普蘭斯基(Reuben Prensky)隨後馬上前來協助老爸。這時普蘭斯基突然靈機一動，衝去廚房拿了放在爐子上的一鍋味噌湯，往起火點倒，結果火勢變小。之後消防隊趕到，把火勢完全撲滅。

蓋納說，如果火再多燒30秒，可能整間房子都會被燒掉。而在味噌「救火」之下，蓋納的家裡僅有部份天花板燒壞、牆壁被燒黑及部分蔬果被燒毀。（施旖婕／綜合外電報導）
