台海危機要角　共軍將領張萬年病逝

中共中央軍委前副主席張萬年今天下午在北京病逝，享壽87歲。

1996年3月，北京當局為恫嚇我國舉行第一次總統直選，中共解放軍在臺灣海峽舉行飛彈演習，從福建南平與永安基地各發射1枚與2枚飛彈，分別落在基隆外海與高雄外海。當時張萬年擔任中共中央軍委副主席，指揮相關工作。

1997年香港回歸中國時，張作為中國政府代表團成員參加政權交接儀式。張萬年曾任中共解放軍總參謀長、中央軍事委員會副主席，上將軍銜，頗受中共前總書記江澤民信任。（大陸中心／綜合外電報導）
