過去考全民英檢多是分成兩天考試，現在語言訓練測試中心(LTTC)提出新方案：考生可選擇「一日考」，聽、說、讀、寫全部集中在同一天辦理。

過去中高級的全民英檢考試，多分成兩天以上來考試，不過部分考生急須取得成績，因此從2014年起，新增一日考，一天即可完成4項測驗，考後6週即可取得成績，從2月18日開放報名。

執行長廖咸浩表示，全民英檢中高級常被用來採認作為大學畢業門檻，另外，部分外交特考、外貿人員人才培訓中心等，也會採計此成績。為了讓考生早點拿到成績，他們特辦一日考考程。

另外，因台灣與越南合作「VEST-500計畫」，將開闢越南考場，方便越南教師來台攻讀碩博士。
