要建立起信任，絕非一日即能成功，而是需要數周，數月，甚至數年。

值得信賴的領導人，會花畢生大部份時間，建立自己的信譽與風格，JetBlue航空公司董事長Joel Peterson在最近於LinkedIn網站上的貼文上寫道。基於此，他們將正直當成一種習慣，並將之擴展到生活中的各各層面。

「一位領導人的能力，領導力，或權力如何，與他是否值得信賴，並無絕對關係，」Peterson斷言道。

「值得信賴的人，無論是對家人，朋友或同事，都值得信賴。他會尊敬他人，為他人著想，即使一旦下台，也會信守不渝，不會改變。」

堅守這些義務，意味時時準備回饋，Peterson說。最值得信賴的領導人，隨時會糾正自己，改正錯誤。

「一如技師將汽車維持在最佳狀態，獲得高度信任的人，會監督並修正自己的行為，總是會接受團隊成員與客戶的建言，讓自己做得更好，」他說。
