開出13年3.25億美金的頂級合約留住「怪力男」Giancarlo Stanton後，馬林魚再砸重本，捧出6年4000萬美元，要綁住王牌投手Jose Fernandez。

儘管Fernandez因為受傷動韌帶移植手術，正在傷兵名單中持續復建，馬林魚仍願意綁住他直到2023年，合約還包括2年球隊選擇權。

要是Fernandez點頭接受，這會是僅2年年資球員中、史上最大的投手合約。

職棒二年級生的Fernandez本季4勝2敗、自責分率2.44，之後因傷進廠維修，去年新人年他拿下12勝6敗、自責分率2.19，入選明星賽、國聯新人王第一名，在國聯賽揚獎名列第3。

此外，馬林魚也將鎖定另3名年輕新秀，包括Adeiny Hechavarria、Christian Yelich和Marcell Ozuna，最快下周有譜。
