神秘腸病毒疫情　4歲童無病徵睡夢中逝世

美國自8月中旬起爆發神秘的D68腸病毒疫情，至今已逾500人染病，大部份是兒童。紐澤西州一名4歲男童日前離奇死亡，死前沒有感染腸病毒的病徵，但當局相信他是死於D68的最早病例之一。

《紐約每日新聞》報導，沃勒（Eli Waller）上月24日出現紅眼症，留在家中休息沒有上學，不料翌日卻在睡夢中突然死亡，死前並無出現任何病徵，令家人傷心又困惑。當地衛生官員表示，沃勒之死與紅眼症無關，應是與腸病毒D68有直接關聯，形容「病發來得很迅速和突然」。

D68的病徵類似感冒，如咳嗽、流鼻水，對哮喘或有隱疾的兒童危害較大，而且未有治療良方，全美已有43州和首都華盛頓出現病例，當局呼籲民眾保持個人衞生，勤加洗手。　（國際中心／綜合外電報導）
