本報訊

由旅港台商組成的港澳台灣慈善基金會日前舉辦「中秋敬長者聯歡」活動，有1000多名長者參加，台港官員也應邀出席。

活動於6日中午在九龍紅磡一家餐廳舉行，1000多名長者歡聚一堂，享用美食，期間基金會安排了藝人表演，讓老人度過快樂的中秋。

香港食物及衛生局局長高永文、台灣駐港台北經濟文化辦事處處長嚴重光應邀出席午宴，他們分別向長者發出中秋祝福。

基金會主席何玉美和聯歡活動籌備委員會統籌王茂林也分別致詞，他們感謝長者對社會的貢獻，期望他們能夠分享來自台灣的愛心，並希望香港延續尊老愛老的傳統美德。

港澳台灣慈善基金會於2004年成立，本著「取之於斯，用之於斯」的精神，在港澳地區推行慈善工作，給予有需要人士適切的援助；基金會每年在兩岸及香港舉辦的「愛心獎」，已普獲認同。(中央社)
