台灣黑熊瀕臨絕種　專家積極努力復育

【蔡永彬／台北報導】台灣黑熊是台灣唯一的原生熊科動物，但由於人為開發，野外黑熊棲息地變小、變零碎，再加上獵捕壓力，台灣黑熊個體數量越來越少，1989年時已列為瀕臨絕種動物，目前野外黑熊估計不超過500隻。

台灣黑熊是獨居動物，繁殖期1年1次，台北市立動物園等16個「台灣動物園暨水族館協會」團體會員，在去年6月簽署《台灣黑熊復育合作保育宣言》，今年各機構積極當媒人，讓分散四處的台灣黑熊有機會碰面、送作堆。今年7月10日北市、壽山動物園合作繁殖成功的4歲母熊「貝兒」到特有生物研究保育中心烏石坑低海拔工作站，和來自屏東科技大學收容中心的公熊「黑皮」相處，希望未來雙方看對眼，能有小台灣黑熊出生。
