狂犬病引發恐慌，台北市狂犬病疫情應變中心啟動防疫機制，表示疫苗量充足；至於市民檢舉家畜醫院等業者哄抬疫苗價格，消保官與動保處自即日起進行聯合稽查，市民如有發現不法情事，也可撥打1999專線向消保官或動保處檢舉。

台北市政府產發局指出，截至8月1日國內動物共檢出21 件陽性鼬獾與1件錢鼠，分布於6縣市17鄉鎮，不含台北市，市府已於7月30日成立應變中心積極防疫。

產發局指出，台北市家犬貓在養數推估為16萬7539隻，至8 月1日止已施打狂犬病疫苗尚在保護效期內者7萬6636隻，施打率近50%；山區犬貓巡迴預防注射暨宣導，已至11處共21 里範圍進行注射，完成施打954隻犬貓，第2輪巡迴注射於本月中展開。

此外，動保處8月1日緊急取得中央1500劑之儲備疫苗，目前庫存3000劑，後續1周內將有1000劑到位，緊急採購部分將於8月中旬至下旬分批取得5萬劑，民間動物醫院自行採購部分，至少有6000劑供應使用。
