The HTC One M9 will continue to rank as the top-selling flagship model among its peers in the Taiwan smartphone market, as did its predecessor the One M8, according to Jack Tong, president of HTC North Asia.
Buoyed by the availability of the One M9, HTC expects its smartphones sales to grow by a double-digit rate in the second quarter of 2015 compared to the previous quarter in terms of volume and value, Tung said.
The 32GB One M9 is priced at NT$21,900 (US$694), which is identical to that of the One M8 although the functionality and the price/performance ratio of the new model has been improved significantly, Tung added.
Sales of the One M9 is expected to account for 70-75% of HTC's total smartphone shipments in Taiwan in 2015, and HTC aims to take up a 25-30% of the local smartphone market in the year, Tong said.
