印度火星探測任務邁入探測器抵達火星的最後階段。探測器已在正確航道上，本月不必進行航道校正操作，預定再33天於9月24日進入火星軌道。

印度太空研究組織（Indian Space ResearchOrganisation, ISRO）今天在臉書（Facebook）專業上發布訊息說，「火星軌道探測器任務只離火星900萬公里，離地球1億8900萬公里，再過33天抵達火星」。

ISRO科學家稍早表示，探測器在正確航道上，因此8月不必進行航道校正操作。

ISRO的C25極軌衛星運載火箭（PSLV-C25）去年11月5日升空，成功將1350公斤的火星軌道探測器送入地球軌道中。被稱為「Mangalyaan」（梵文意為火星飛船）的火星軌道探測器預定9月24日進入火星軌道。

這任務耗資45億盧比（約7274萬7000美元），為美國相關計畫的1/10，創下紀錄；也使印度成為繼美國、俄羅斯、中國大陸、日本和歐盟後，第6個發射火星軌道探測器的國家。大陸和日本的探測器沒抵達火星軌道。

除建立自身航太能力以外，印度火星任務也要尋找火星大氣中存在甲烷氣體的證據。若可證明火星存在甲烷，可能暗示有生命存在。(中央社)
