龜山島401步道，受到豪大雨沖刷，距登山口50公尺處的步道基座掏空損毀，為維護遊客安全，原訂5月12日起封閉3個月暫停開放，但東北角暨宜蘭海岸國家風景區管理處提前搶修完成，7月15日重新開放。

東北角暨宜蘭海岸國家風景區管理處指出，通往401高地的步道是龜山島上生態步道之一，長約1,363公尺，鋪有石板階梯共1,706階，登高望遠視野遼闊，兼具觀光價值及環境教育意義。

龜山島於民國89年8月1日正式開放觀光，近幾年已穩定吸引將近20萬名遊客，經由烏石港出航登島攬勝或賞鯨遊憩，不但增添一個生態旅遊景點，也帶動海上觀光產業的發展，每年創造地方觀光效益達3億餘元。

管理處表示，搶修完成的步道，已派員檢查結構及週邊環境安全，預計15日起重新開放；該步道因屬管制區域，欲造訪遊客請依「龜山島生態旅遊作業管理要點」申請進入。
