世足賽外圍賭盤美賭城遭查禁　8人被逮

8名來自馬來西亞、中國和香港的人，涉嫌在美國賭城拉斯維加斯賭場酒店內非法收受數以百萬美元計的世界盃足球賽賭注，遭美當局被捕。
 
美國當局透露，來自馬來西亞的50歲疑犯Wei Seng Phua與另外7人，於賭城拉斯維加斯凱薩皇宮賭場飯店的房間內，安裝DSL線和WiFi，接受投注。
 
聯邦調查局和內華達州賭博控制委員會人員，周日於飯店三間套房內展開拘捕，並查獲一部用來紀錄投注的筆電。
 
美檢方表示，遭拘押的8人中有4人來自馬來西亞，1人來自中國以及3名港人，年齡介於22歲至56歲之間。其中主嫌Wei Seng Phua還是黑幫組織三合會高層，上月18日其也曾因在澳門收受外圍世足賽賭注而被捕，後獲保釋。此次8人遭美當局逮捕，若成罪將面臨高達5年的徒刑，以及最高25萬美元（約750萬元台幣）的罰款。（國際中心／綜合報導）
