彭博報導，日本人妻大發慈悲，增老公每月零用錢，以因應本會計年度開始銷售稅調漲。

日本雖是個男尊女卑的社會，但多數家庭卻都是由家庭主婦手執財政大權，老公的每月零用錢多由老婆定奪。

根據東京新生銀行（ShinseiBankLtd）指出，日本丈夫的每月零用錢較去年增加百分之二點九，達三九五七二日圓（三八九美元）。新生銀行蒐集的資料可回溯至一九七九年。

日本「薪水族」（Salarymen）的主要花費在飲酒，平均一個月出去喝酒二點四次，花費三四八三日圓。
