針對今下午飛安會公布，復興空難最初是2號發動機失效，但疑似因駕駛員操作問題，誤將1號發動機關掉，才造成雙發動機失效，對此正駕駛廖建宗的父親晚間受訪表示，飛安會專業的東西他不懂，應等最後的調查結果，現在沒力氣去想其他的事，只想好好辦好兒子的後事，送他最後一程。

弟弟晚間接受電話訪問時表示:「尊重飛安會專業和初步調查結果，待最終調查結果出來才能回應。」(地方中心／南投報導)
