紐時：警察「鎮壓」　香港街頭淪為戰場

香港近日掀起大規模公民運動「和平佔中」，吸引全球媒體關注，美國最知名大報《紐約時報》稱，香港警察「鎮壓」抗爭者，結果適得其反，引來更多人憤怒走上街頭。文章指出，昨天香港警方以催淚瓦斯對付抗爭者，使得香港市中心瞬間變成「戰場」，激起大眾憤怒，有數萬人走上街頭。
 
美國知名財經媒體《華爾街日報》則以「香港民主運動獲得全球支持」，指出香港佔中吸引越來越多的國際關注，有超過10萬人在網路連署請願，要求美國總統歐巴馬支持香港民主選舉。在英國倫敦，400名香港公民與學生舉行集會，聲援香港民主運動。
