哥斯大黎加與希臘之戰堪稱本屆世界盃的「黑馬對決」，哥斯大黎加在分組預賽連克義大利與烏拉圭，躍升成D組龍頭，至於希臘則是在分組預賽最後一戰以2比1扳倒象牙海岸，意外以C組第2晉級，兩隊都是不被看好的球隊，賭盤賠率同樣難分軒輊，哥斯大黎加以1賠2.7略佔上風，希臘則以1賠3緊追在後。（龍柏安／綜合報導）
