【林錫淵、吳柏源／高雄報導】今天上午10時許，有工人在高市鳳山區鳳頂路與保生路口埋設污水下水道管線工程時，挖土機挖到1枚未爆彈，當時工人以為只是 生鏽粗鐵管，未詳細查看就把它丟到一旁人行道上，沒想到這一丟，未爆彈撞破1個約1公分大小的破洞，還冒出一點點火星及白煙，吳姓工人看到火星及冒煙嚇一 大跳，仔細一看才知該物是一顆未爆彈。

吳男立即拿水潑灑在未爆彈上，希望藉由火藥潮濕，阻止爆炸意外，緊接著吳男將整顆長約40多公分的 未爆彈放入水桶，泡在水中，趕緊報案。警方通知軍方未爆彈處理小組，軍方抵達確認是1顆42迫擊砲彈，外觀完整，但已無引信，並無危險性，會有小火星及冒 煙可能是有殘留火藥，已帶回處理。
