「大餅」林岳平昨(15日)面對義大犀牛，9局下上場後援，他用12顆球抓下3個出局數，奪下生涯第125次救援成功，打破前洋投凱薩的124次紀錄，成為中職史上救援王。
「賽前就知道，有機會在那場比賽完成紀錄，所以特別謹慎、冷靜，不過，上場不是為了記錄，而是以守住勝利為目標。」林岳平賽後接受隊友用「礦泉水」祝賀。
這位職棒9年級生，用輕描淡寫的方式來談這項紀錄，不過，林岳平的職棒生涯，並不是一路順遂，2007年他動了心臟手術，「當時總裁林蒼生要我放手一搏，好好治療，球團永遠等我回來，讓我沒有後顧之憂，這個榮耀屬於統一獅，不是我一個人能達成的。」
有了球團的支持，林岳平告訴自己，再次回到球場上，一定要想辦法有一番作為，不一定要最突出，但是一定要有貢獻。
大餅從2008年開始累計救援紀錄，就在今年球季逐步邁向紀錄時，他坦言，球隊在連敗時，是他最難熬的時刻，「當初花掉球隊不少戰績，才換來這樣的紀錄，我相信好與不好，都會引發討論，不過，我只能告訴自己不要想太多，把全部專注力投入在球場。」 (接下一頁)
