倫敦市長年薪僅台幣720萬

大企業執行長年薪動輒千萬台幣起跳，相較之下，全球大城市市長的年薪最多700萬台幣就到頂，美國富豪彭博當紐約市長時與南韓前總統李明博當首爾市長時，企業家出身的他們對市長薪水根本不看在眼裡，或僅象徵性每年領1美元，或是捐出薪水。

美國富豪彭博當過12年的紐約市長，任職期間年薪19.5萬美元，換算台幣月薪約51萬元，但是他拒領，僅每年領取1美元。

美國市長的薪水多寡，視城市大小而定，許多小城市的市長屬兼職，據NBC新聞頻道去年調查，佛羅里達州南部的市長，有些甚至是沒有薪水的。

南韓前總統李明博在首爾市長任內，捐薪水幫消防隊和清潔隊員的子女付學雜費。根據倫敦市政府網頁，市長強森年薪14.3萬英鎊，月薪折合台幣約59.9萬。
