全球僅餘六頭　罕見白犀牛死亡

一頭極為罕見的35歲北非白犀牛蘇尼(Suni)，上周五(17日)在肯亞死亡，這使得全球同種犀牛的數量僅剩下6隻，隨時都會絕種。

蘇尼1980年在捷克Dvur Kralove動物園出生，園方2009年將蘇尼及另外3隻北非白犀牛，帶到肯雅Ol Pejeta保護區放生，希望牠們在大自然環境裡，繁殖後代會比較容易，能夠幫助北非白犀牛免於絕種。不過動物園周五發現蘇尼已經死亡，死因未明，但已排除是遭到獵人撲殺。

北非白犀牛是白犀牛的亞種，而蘇尼就是全球僅剩的兩頭仍具有繁衍後代能力的雄性北非白犀牛之一，牠的死亡讓專家擔心繁殖情況及北非白犀牛的未來。（於慶中／綜合外電報導）
