熬夜搭乘「紅眼航班」　華裔女乘客機上猝死

廉價航空當道，三更半夜起飛出發的「紅眼航班」也愈來愈多，美國一名吳姓華裔女子，昨天(30日)凌晨從夏威夷檀香山機場搭乘全美航空公司客機飛往亞利桑那州鳳凰城途中，竟在機上猝死。

該班波音757客機前晚深夜起飛，隔天清晨抵達鳳凰城，航程逾5小時。由於飛機徹夜飛行，俗稱「紅眼航班」(Red-eye Flight)。鳳凰城警方表示，58歲死者Terrie Wu與一名親友同行，在距離目的地還有約一小時便失去知覺。

全美航空公司發言人表示，飛機降落時已先向機場報告，飛機抵達後，等候的救援人員上機檢查，並宣佈女子已經死亡。調查人員相信，吳姓女子原本就患病，屬正常死亡，但死因仍需等待法醫鑒定。

「紅眼航班」是指夜間起降的航班，據說1959年最早始於美國，由於乘客步下飛機時大多睡眼惺忪，因此得名。「紅眼航班」利用飛機的夜間空檔安排飛行，提高了使用率，成本大大降低，票價也較便宜。（於慶中／綜合外電報導）
