日本再發射衛星　能監測全球天災

日本種子島航太中心（Tanegashima Space Centre），在今天（24日）當地時間中午12點05分成功發射今年第二號火箭「H-IIA」，將「進階地面觀察衛星」（Advanced Land Observation Satellite, ALOS）送到太空，這顆衛星被名為「Daichi-2」。
 
根據《NASA Space Flight》網站報導，「Daichi-2」將進入太陽同步軌道，透過雷達衛星影像，進行土壤與資源研究，並觀察天災與環境生成原因。「Daichi-2」重2120公斤，估計服役5年，配有一對太陽能面板，能夠產生5.2千瓦電力，還有遠紅外線熱像感測器，能夠針測森林火災。先前「Daichi-1」於2006年服役5年後失去動力，不過仍在軌道上運行，現在將由「Daichi-2」接替任務，監控地震與海嘯等天災情況。（余浚安／綜合外電報導）
