西雅圖將推出員警配戴隨身攝影機的試辦計畫，實施期間每天有6名交通警察在執勤時配戴固定於胸前或耳上的小型攝影機。

西雅圖市長莫瑞（Ed Murray）接受媒體訪問時說：「我相信隨身攝影機將是未來的執法趨勢。」

對於員警執勤時配戴攝影機的實驗方案，西雅圖雖已討論多年，卻始終無法取得共識。如今經過市議會與警察工會協商後，終於取得協議。根據協議內容，員警將不會被強迫要求配戴攝影機，西雅圖警局將徵求自願者參加這項試辦計畫。

根據媒體報導，西雅圖市議會針對警察配戴隨身攝影機的試辦計畫，撥款15萬美元做為預算。

在試辦計畫初期，每天有6名西雅圖交通警察在執勤時，將配戴固定於胸前或耳上的小型攝影機。試辦計畫期間，警方使用的小型攝影機總數最多不得超過12台。(中央社)
