美前太平洋司令訪蘇貞昌

美國智庫「國家亞洲研究局」(National Bureau of Asian Research，NBR)訪問團一行10人由美軍前太平洋司令魏勒(Admiral Robert F.Willard)上將率領，於今日拜會民進黨主席蘇貞昌。雙方針對兩岸關係、區域安全與經貿情勢進行廣泛的意見交換。

訪賓詢及民進黨對於台灣參與「跨太平洋經貿夥伴協議」(TPP)機會與挑戰，蘇貞昌主席表示，台灣雖然加入了世界貿易組織，卻被排除在近年盛行的區域自由貿易協定(FTAs)下潮流中，有邊緣化的危機。

蘇貞昌說，民進黨主張要加入TPP，為此還組團前往日本與韓國觀察了解兩國對於TPP與FTAs的談判策略與因應之道，以為借鏡。民進黨會督促政府鬆綁相關法規、改革產業結構，深入研究個別TPP參與國家的條件與因應策略，針對可能受害產業進行補貼與輔導轉型，盡快做好加入TPP的準備工作。
