搶攻穿戴商機　康寧、正達攜手合作

【吳秀樺／台北報導】搶攻穿戴商機宣布與正達國際光電（3149）合作，利用全新3D 玻璃成型技術，生產不同曲面的 Corning® Gorilla® Glass，在2014年能就3D 曲面 Gorilla Glass 後段加工進行商業量產，並與正達合作在台灣建立垂直整合營運。
 
康寧指出，由於目前在前十大智慧型手機製造商裡，有超過半數的業者已開始銷售略帶弧型之保護玻璃的產品，而康寧的 3D 成型技術能夠滿足這項需求，為了能夠提供「一站式」解決方案，康寧與正達合作。
 
康寧特殊材料事業群資深副總裁暨總經理 James R. Steiner 表示，康寧在亞洲，能夠生產從平面到 3D 曲面的 Gorilla Glass 產品加快生產，以及降低在物流後勤作業上的複雜性。這對康寧與客戶來說，都是一大利多。
 
康寧的 3D 成型技術能在較其它雙模具成型技術更經濟的平台上，達到精準公差和高產出率的目標。這項技術使用一致厚度的 Gorilla Glass，有助於設計師推出更輕薄的裝置，以及因應行動及穿戴式裝置顯示器所需的曲面顯示裝置。
