世界最老動物507歲 不慎被弄死

英國科學家2006年在北大西洋的海底撈到一個深海圓蛤類動物，最新研究發現，這個蛤蜊實際年齡是507歲，牠是世界上最老的動物，可惜這隻「高齡」的軟體動物被科學家不小心弄死了。

　英國《每日電訊報》報導，2006年研究人員從北大西洋的海底捕撈到這個蛤蜊，把牠放在冷凍櫃作研究。當時研究人員依據蛤蜊殼上的生長輪數，認為牠應該有405歲，研究人員以中國的朝代「明朝」，將他命名為「明」，當時還創了金氏世界紀錄。不過當科學家撬開牠的殼時，「明」的生命跡象漸漸消失了。

　　最近英國海洋科學家再次精密計算「明」的生長輪數，驚訝的發現，他們以前弄錯了，科學家認為，「明」應該比原先的結論再多100多歲，實際年齡應該是507歲，牠應該出生於1499年，而1492年哥倫布發現美洲新大陸。
