「超級Wi-Fi」進入美國大學

「超級Wi-Fi」正式進入美國大專院校。技術開發集團Declaration Networks周四表示，該公司現在開始向美國大專院校提供這項服務。有些無線服務供應商說，這項新科技雖然稱為「超級wi-Fi」，其實使用有別於大多數網咖和家庭網路低用的傳輸頻率，它使用「空白頻段(white spaces)」──電視廣播頻道轉向數位化之後閒置的頻段。Declaration Networks表示，西維吉尼亞大學是第一所部署這項服務的大學。該公司表示，超級Wi-Fi不需要額外設備就能搭配大多數裝置，而且範圍達八公里，而非傳統Wi-Fi的一百公尺。
