【綜合報導】英女皇與安妮公主18日訪問坎布里亞(Cumbria)，獲當地士兵和市民夾道歡迎，然而一名中士卻在女皇走到面前時突然坐下，在旁市民見到為之譁然，但女皇表現淡定，完全不感到驚訝。

原來32歲的中士魯夏特（Rusiate Bolavucu）來自斐濟，他表示遇到國家元首時坐下是斐濟的傳統，還要低頭與盤膝以示尊敬。魯夏特還說「女皇曾到訪斐濟，她是知道的，又問我來自甚麽地方，所以看到我這樣做時，女皇微笑了」。不過，一旁不明就裡的市民，還以為魯夏特對女皇不禮貌。

【孫英哲／彰化報導】本月１３日蘇力颱風過境期間，彰化縣溪湖鎮發生雨衣怪客冒著強風豪雨縱火燒車的案件，溪湖警分局經連日追查後，今天逮捕涉案的女子黃麗臻（４２歲）及其男性友人蕭偉志（４５歲），訊後依公共危險及毀損等罪嫌移送法辦。

警 方指出，黃麗臻與被害車主陳女原本在同一家婦產科擔任護士，然黃女在今年初被院方以工作不力為由辭退，黃女認為是陳女在說她的壞話，才會讓她丟了工作，因 此懷恨在心，時常打電話或跑到醫院騷擾陳女，並進而在１６日深夜連繫其男性友人蕭偉志，要求蕭男替她去燒陳女的車。蕭男當時拒絕，並規勸黃女不要這樣做， 結果黃女反對蕭男嗆說，要不她自己去燒車，「不然你幫我這個忙，我就和你在一起」。蕭男竟因此犯下縱火燒車案。

警方調查，黃女與蕭男為朋友關係，多年前，蕭男曾性侵黃女，因此入獄服刑三年多，之後仍對黃女念念不忘，才會在黃女提出交往條件下，甘心為其犯下縱火案。

【張芳榮／台北報導】1名在中研院工作的博士上月接到陌生男子電話，「你兒子在我手上，拿70萬元來贖人！」但是他不相信告訴對方「你是詐騙集團，我不會上當！」但是掛上電話後卻一直聯絡不上兒子，隨即又接到對方電話嗆聲「1小時後沒收到錢，你準備收屍。」這名中研院的博士擔心兒子真的被綁，只好按照電話中歹徒的指示匯錢，沒想到對方收到錢後，居然傳LINE嘲笑博士「你被騙了！」氣得博士報警，要揪出可惡的詐騙嫌犯。

警方提醒，台北市最近發生多起詐欺案，都是被「假綁架、真詐欺」老套招數，但是仍騙走不少被害人50萬以上巨額現金，民眾要小心避免上當。

【林志青╱新北報導】家住新北市汐止區民族六街的陳姓婦人（約60多歲），在住處房內燒炭尋短，今晚7時許，子女返家發現報警，送汐止國泰醫院急救。

警方表示，患有重度憂鬱症的陳婦，領有重大傷病卡，年前離異後，與前夫及子女同住。由於案發現場未留遺書，尋短原因仍待警方調查釐清。
