紐約商品期貨交易所(COMEX)12月黃金期貨10月4日在市場期待美國政府關門時間不會延續太久的影響下，終場下跌7.7美元或0.6%成為每盎司1,309.90美元，為過去一週以來第4度走軟；週線下跌2.2%，年初迄今跌幅已達22%。

COMEX 12月白銀期貨4日也下跌0.2%，成為每盎司21.752美元；年初迄今跌幅達28%。此外，紐約商業交易所(NYMEX)1月鉑金期貨則上漲1.1%成為每盎司1,388美元，12月鈀金期貨上漲0.2%成為每盎司701.95美元。紐約商品期貨交易所(COMEX)2013年12月期銅4日收盤亦上漲1%成為每磅3.30美元。

美國聯邦政府機構部分關閉已進入第四天，市場普遍認為國會不會放任情況惡化下去。彭博社報導，R.J. O’Brien & Associates資深原物料經紀商Phil Streible表示，資金似乎流向股市，黃金並未吸引避險買盤湧入。

MarketWatch報導，Commerzbank分析師則指出，美元走軟、預算爭議讓金價從日前的跌勢中恢復過來，過去兩天內的買盤主要來自之前退出市場的投機客。不過，資金仍持續從黃金ETF流出，過去兩天已有5.7噸的黃金遭賣出，而中國大陸對實體黃金的買氣也因黃金週(10月1-7日)展開而趨疲。

貝萊德執行長(CEO)Laurence D. Fink 3日在加州大學洛杉磯分校安德森管理學院所舉辦的會議上表示，美國國會爭議將會非常迅速地獲得解決，美國不會讓債務違約。太平洋投資管理公司(PIMCO)共同投資長葛洛斯(Bill Gross)也說，這是政治人物為了搶收視率所創造出來的一齣戲、這不是一個現實的命題。

共和黨眾議員目前分為兩派，其中一派堅持反對總統歐巴馬(Barack Obama)力薦的2010年版健保法案，另一派則傾向支持民主黨參議員擬訂的預算案，這個版本並未對結束政府關門附加任何條件。

共和黨籍眾議院議長博納(John Boehner)4日對記者表示，民主黨必須同意談判並改革健保法，才能讓政府再度運作。不過，彭博社報導，根據兩名共和黨國會助理的說法，博納過去曾對共和黨夥伴表示，他絕不會放任美國違約，即使這意味著他必須贏得民主黨投票支持。

《自由時報》報導，日前有位身材姣好、雙腿修長的辣妹，喝醉在台北市忠孝東路錢櫃旗艦店門口，對著走出KTV的男子「摸褲」挑逗，該名男子也早喝茫，以為飛來艷遇，便拉著性感辣妹拉到巷內上演活春宮，更吸引路人圍觀。

事後沒想到長腿辣妹卻指控性侵，男子雖向警方喊冤，但警方還是依妨害性自主罪嫌送辦。

《蘋果》報導，一名陳姓男子上月花三千元買到市價一萬多元的OAKLEY M-FRAME眼鏡，以為撿到便宜，但配戴後出現眩光、頭暈，向警方檢舉。警方追查發現，在台南市西港區經營成衣印刷廠的女子李翠樺（四十六歲），從中國訂購大批仿冒歐克利，上周三在成衣廠查扣總數九千三百支山寨眼鏡。李女供稱每支眼鏡進價三十元，再以兩百至四百元批給運動用品社，業者再以九百至三千元不等價格賣給不知情消費者，全案依違反《商標法》、詐欺罪送辦。
