【國際中心／綜合外電報導】急著想傳宗接代嗎？英國市面上最近出現一款「驗精棒」，10分鐘即可測得精蟲數量多寡，有助提高女伴受孕機率。

這款名為「精子檢查」（SpermCheck）的新器材，26日在英國開賣，外型與驗孕棒類似，使用者可自行在家檢查精蟲數量是否正常，若每毫升少於2000萬隻即屬過低，號稱準確率高達98％，每個售價約1430元台幣。

製造商表示，生出不小孩的壓力往往由女性單獨承受，但其實40％到60％案例是男性不孕，盼驗精棒能幫助夫妻及早發現問題。

美股28日呈現盤整走勢，由於經濟數據未有太好表現，加上聯準會(FED)本週將舉行例會，使得多空似乎都無意過早表態，道瓊、標普500指數盤中暫維持在平盤附近上下震盪。

嘉實XQ全球贏家報價系統顯示，截至台北時間29日00時20分止，道瓊工業平均指數盤中漲0.05%(8.35點)至15578.63點；NASDAQ指數跌0.12%(4.8點)至3938.56點；標準普爾500指數漲0.16%(2.73點)至1762.50點；費城半導體指數漲0.59%(2.94點)至499.24點。        

美國9月份工業生產指數月增0.6%，雖然優於預期，但佔工業生產比重75%的製造業分項指數僅微增0.1%(年增2.6%)，低於分析師預估的0.3%。另一份報告顯示，9月份二手樓(已簽約待過戶之成屋)衰退5.6%，已連4個月交易量下滑且幅度逐月擴大。

FED將在10月29-30日召開貨幣決策會議。一般預期FED將維持過去基調，耐心等候更多數據後再決定何時放慢購債速度。象徵市場恐慌情緒的芝加哥選擇權交易所(CBOE)VIX指數本月累計下跌18%，但是盤中暫時走揚3.4%至13.54點。

從產業別指數看，10大上市類股7個走跌，跌幅以公用事業類股跌0.4個百分點最大。反觀基本消費類股則上漲0.9%。

默克藥廠(Merck)下挫2.5%至45.39美元，是道瓊工業指數氣勢偏弱的主因。該公司公布第三季財報，雖然獲利優於預期，但受專利過期以及匯率因素影響，營收衰退4%令分析師失望。

蘋果盤後將公布第三季財報。據彭博社調查，在iPhone新機的加持下，銷量有望成長，每股盈餘可達7.92美元。蘋果盤中小跌0.1%至525.63美元。

漢堡王全球控股公司(Burger King Worldwide Holdings)漲3.8%至20.52美元，主因前季營收擊敗分析師預期。

【大陸中心／綜合外電報導】浙江省溫嶺市第一人民醫院上周五發生病患殺害醫師的悲劇，耳鼻喉科主任王雲傑無辜身亡。殺害王雲傑的33歲兇嫌連恩青，去年因鼻中隔偏曲及鼻竇炎在該院接受鼻腔微創手術，但他認為手術不成功，回院多次找主治的蔡姓醫師檢查，醫師都稱沒問題，但他仍覺得沒治好。他妹妹說，哥哥後來甚至認為醫生都串通騙他，8月被診斷有妄想症，在上海住院治療， 本月中才出院。

由於王與嫌犯並無醫病關係，但院方擔心影響形象，案發後2天就出動警察，企圖不經家屬同意就將王的遺體火化。家屬及醫護人員徹夜守護遺體，演變成與武警大規模對峙。

但具反共色彩的大紀元電子報、希望之聲國際廣播電台均稱，搶屍衝突發生原因，其實是溫嶺市當地官員擔心此治安事件影響下周三「平安溫嶺」的評選，強迫王雲傑家屬提前出殯。

【陳方瑩／南投報導】南投縣關懷動物協會今天在埔里鎮樹人路夜市廣場，舉行一場另類「貓靈狗靈超度法會」，現場掛滿近年協會處理的虐死、病死貓狗照片，並準備兩艘法船，及大批素食飼料、紙蓮花與紙元寶等供品，志工及飼主跟隨法師誦經超度，希望無主的貓狗靈放下執著，原諒曾經拋棄、虐待殘殺牠們的人類，早日脫離苦海。

理事長李虹真指出，協會每年受理棄養及施虐動物中，超過250隻死於非命慘不忍睹，其他未被發現及時搶救的，更是不勝其數，呼籲民眾愛牠就不要拋棄牠，眾生平等尊重生命。

【周佩萱／綜合外電報導】颶風級的暴風雨27日襲擊歐洲，目前已知至少造成8死，其中以英國和德國受災最慘重。

德國西部蓋爾森基興(Gelsenkirchen)2名在車內的民眾因路樹壓毀汽車身亡，法國不列塔尼(Brittany)也傳出一名婦人被沖出大海，荷蘭阿姆斯特丹也有一名婦人被路樹壓倒身亡。
 
倫敦和德國北部多班火車停駛，荷蘭史基浦機場(Schiphol)則有至少50班航班取消，丹麥和瑞典當局已發布暴風雨警告。
