希臘大選結果出爐後，市場憂心希臘可能打破國際支援的條件，甚至可能脫離歐元區，紐約原油續挫至單日最低點。雖然希臘Syriza政黨原本就預期可望勝選，但選票差距之大令人意外，美元與油價雙雙走跌。

紐約3月輕質原油下滑44美分，收在每桶45.15美元，跌幅1%。布蘭特原油亦走跌，下滑63美分，收在每桶48.16美元，跌幅1.3%。

石油輸出家組織祕書長Abdalla el-Badri週一稍早表示，如果產油商不投資新的供給來源，油價未來有可能出現每桶200美元。他認為，油價位於45~55美元可能是底部，可能「很快」就會反彈。

花旗期貨的分析師Tim Evans指出，原油稍早還受到Badri的評論所激勵上揚，但是長期投資風險導致油價飆破200美元，可能只是「目前假設的情況」而已。

另一方面，2月天然氣期貨下跌10.5美分，收在每單位2.881美元，跌幅3.5%。2月汽油期貨下跌3.12美分，收在每加侖1.3167美元，跌幅2.3%。2月熱燃油下滑0.69美分，收在每加侖1.6398美元。
