雙橡園舉行台美斷交後首次元旦升旗典禮

我駐美代表處於民國104年1月1日上午8時30分，在華府的雙橡園舉行元旦升旗典禮，這是民國67年12月31日台灣與美國斷交前夕於雙橡園舉行降旗儀式後，36年來首度在雙橡園舉行升旗典禮升起中華民國國旗。

我駐美代表沈呂巡夫婦率領代表處同仁和眷屬參加，僑務委員、僑界代表及退役將領等共計上百人出席這場值得紀念的典禮。典禮結束後，沈呂巡也在雙橡園主屋為代表處軍事代表團的4名現役軍人，頒授中華民國軍方忠勤勳章。
