根據大聯盟球員工會公布的訊息，大聯盟球員今年球員平均薪資是381萬8923美元，較去年增加了12.78%，預估明年球季應可突破400萬美元。

大聯盟球員工會調查的對象包括至8月31日為止的登錄球員以及傷兵名單，由於電視轉播權利金的收入增加，今年約90億美元，這是球員薪資能夠大幅調昇的主因。

大聯盟球員的平均薪資在1992年破了100萬美元，2001年達200萬美元，2010年超過300萬美元，預估明年將可破400萬美元。
