根據「義大利新聞社」（ANSA）報導，海軍在西西里島外海援救1艘載滿非法移民的橡皮艇，但船上93人當中有17人已經死亡。

根據初步研判，這些死者可能是因為脫水或是體溫過低而失去性命。

這艘橡皮艇從北非的利比亞（Libya）出發，試圖抵達西西里島。義大利海軍救起另外76人，但其中有兩人的生命跡象微弱，由直升機送往醫院急救。(中央社)
