國民黨在九合一選舉空前慘敗，馬英九周三將辭掉國民黨主席。由於第一副主席吳敦義請辭、第二副主席曾永權婉拒，將由第三副主席洪秀柱代理，旋即啟動黨主席改選機制，最遲明年一月中旬完成。
