「西溪」Russell Westbrook直言，不想一個人扛起「Kevin Durant缺陣時的勝敗責任」，雷霆教頭Scott Brooks也認為，別把焦點只放在Westbrook身上。

「我們不會要求Westbrook平均每場35分，」Brooks教頭說，「當然，他的得分能力相當好，能拿20分、甚至30分，但也會有個幾場拿15分。」

「Westbrook只要像之前那樣打球，就夠棒了。不能只靠一個人，就可以頂替Durant，我期待的是，整支球隊都變得更好，才能彌補Durant的缺。」

少了Durant，對雷霆當然是一大打擊，但教頭Brooks不自怨自艾，而是要球員自立自強。

「沒有人會可憐我們！」Brooks說，「我可沒收到其他隊教頭『希望延後開打』的簡訊，他們才不會等我們。」
