大聯盟5日出現重量級交易，小熊把Jeff Samardzija跟Jason Hammel兩位強力先發投手送到運動家，換來投手Dan Straily跟潛力新秀Addison Russell等4人。

小熊的悲情王牌Samardzija果然還是換了東家，他本季自責分率壓低到2.83，但戰績只有2勝7敗，開季第11場先發才奪得今年首勝。

Hammel今年才加入小熊，繳出8勝5敗自責分率2.98，這項交易等於是一次出清2張王牌，小熊已經超過百年沒贏得世界大賽冠軍，看來要打破「山羊魔咒」還有一段長路要走。

交易案天秤另一端，運動家拿出投手Straily、游擊手Russell、外野手Billy McKinney跟1位日後指名球員。

而重點菜色是2014年全大聯盟百大新秀評比第11名的Russell，他今年20歲，在2A出賽13場打擊三圍0.333/0.439/0.500(打擊率/上壘率/長打率)，有1支全壘打3次盜壘成功。
