（中央社吉隆坡14日綜合外電報導）馬來西亞當局今天說，搜索馬航8日凌晨失聯的MH370班機的範圍向西擴大到印度洋。國際海事衛星組織說，這架客機從民航雷達螢幕上消失後，至少還發送了5小時的自動信號。

法新社引述英國廣播公司（BBC）的報導說，設在倫敦的英國公司「國際海事衛星組織」（Inmarsat Plc）說，MH370班機在據報消失後，至少還發送了5小時的自動信號。

BBC說，這些信號只有在飛機完整且發動機開動下才會發送，這可能可以解釋為什麼搜尋團隊向印度洋移動。

馬來西亞航空公司波音777客機8日凌晨從吉隆坡飛往北京，機上共有239人。

美國派出P-8「海神式」巡邏機（Poseidon）和紀德號飛彈導向驅逐艦（USS Kidd）前往孟加拉灣和安達曼海搜尋。

印度國防部說，東部海軍司令部（Eastern NavalCommand）已派員在濱孟加拉灣清奈市（Chennai）附近15公里寬、600公里長的範圍搜尋。
