西維吉尼亞州飲水污染　數百病30萬人無水喝

【國際中心／綜合外電報導】美國西維吉尼亞州化學藥劑外洩，污染水源事件，兩天來已導致數百人不適，至少30萬居民無水飲用。

洩漏事故發生後，當局收到逾千通求助電話，數百人不適嘔吐，數十人須送醫診治。政府指當地9個郡情況嚴重，雖然測試顯示，水中化學物質濃度開始下降，但政府禁水令繼續，學校、餐廳、酒店、商店因此暫停運作或關門，情況混亂。

據估計該州目前至少30萬人無水可用。當局已派出水車，為居民提供飲用水，並呼籲民眾暫時不要喝自來水或將之用於洗澡、刷牙、洗衣服等。

這次造成污染的化學物質為「4-甲基環己烷甲醇」（4-Methylcyclohexane Methanol），主要用來清洗煤炭，人體吸入或攝取後，會造成嘔吐和頭暈等病徵，估計外洩量多達5000加侖。
