日本經濟產業省29日公佈經濟數據指出，2013年10月份日本工業生產指數速報值(經季節因素調整後)月增0.5%至98.8，連續第2個月呈現增長，惟增幅遠遜於Thomson Reuters事前所作調查月增2.0%的預估值、並遠遜於經產省原先自估的月增4.7%；當月日本工業生產指數原數值年增4.7%至101.6。

經產省指出，10月份日本工業生產指數呈現增長主要為汎用/生產用/商用機械工業、電氣機械工業和塑膠產品工業等表現優於前月所致。就個別產品來看，促使工業生產呈現增長的項目依序為半導體製造設備、手機和分離式空調。

另外，10月份日本工業出貨指數(經季節因素調整後)為98.6，較前月上揚1.8%，連續第2個月呈現增長；原數值年增5.7%至99.8。工業庫存指數(經季節因素調整後)較前月下滑0.5%至107.8，連續第3個月呈現下滑；原數值年減4.0%至109.2。工業庫存率指數(經季節因素調整後)月減3.7%至106.0，連續第2個月呈現下滑；原數值年減9.9%至105.6。

經產省預估2013年11月、12月的工業生產指數將分別月增0.9%、月增2.1%。經產省並將整體工業生產動向維持於「生產持續呈現好轉動向」不變。
