馬爾地夫大選塵埃落定 新總統周日就職

馬爾地夫16日舉行總統大選第二輪決選，由前強人蓋約姆(Maumoon Abdul Gayoom)的同父異母弟弟雅門(Abdulla Yameen)險勝，他將在17日宣誓成為馬爾地夫的新任總統。

選舉委員會的計票結果顯示，雅門囊括51.3%選票，他的對手--前總統納希德(Mohamed Nasheed)得票率為48.6%。選委會表示，雅門的就職典禮將在17日舉行。

納希德已承認敗選，並表示他將不會去挑戰這項由國際觀察家監督的選舉結果。納希德16日晚間在首都瑪萊(Male)發表演說，他表示，「我優雅地接受敗選」，「我們以些微差距落敗，民主是一個進程，要靠我們來讓它運作。」

納希德表示，「今天對馬爾地夫人來說是快樂的一天，我們現在有民選政府了。」

馬爾地夫是在9日舉行延宕已久的總統大選。21個月前遭逼退的首位民選總統納希德捲土重來，獲得46.93%選票，但未越過直接贏得勝選所需的50%得票門檻，因此必須舉行第二輪投票。第二回合投票原定10日進行，但最高法院在雅門的要求下，下令延至16日才投票。

由於擔心這場延宕已久的政治危機可能持續下去，因此納希德的坦承敗北，對於攸關馬爾地夫命脈的觀光業來說，可以說是鬆了一口氣。
