菲律賓風災 死亡人數續攀升

超級強烈颱風海燕重創菲律賓。聯合國人道事務主管艾摩斯(Valerie Amos)9日表示，菲律賓紅十字會告訴聯合國已經有超過1,200人死亡，但預料死傷人數將會持續攀升。

艾摩斯在一份聲明中表示，菲律賓政府估計有36省的430萬多人受到海燕颱風的影響。初步評估有數千房屋遭海燕摧毀，道路中斷。艾摩斯說，菲律賓災民現在急需糧食、飲水、庇護所以及電力供應。

艾摩斯指出，隨著救難人員陸續抵達災區，整個受損的情況會更明朗。

聯合國災害評估和協調小組(U.N. Disaster Assessment and Coordination team)已經在9日抵達受災最嚴重的菲律賓雷伊泰(Leyte)省首府塔克羅班市(Tacloban)。

艾摩斯說，聯合國將隨時動員國際社會，援助菲律賓受災人民。

根據聯合國發言人內瑟基(Martin Nesirky)指出，聯合國秘書長潘基文(Ban Ki-moon)對海燕颱風造成菲律賓人員和財產重大損失，深感哀傷，並表示，聯合國所有人道機構將快速回應菲律賓的一切需求。

聯合國兒童基金會(UNICEF)也已經從丹麥哥本哈根緊急運送60公噸的保健醫療品和帳篷，預料將在12日運抵菲律賓。另外也安排從其它歐洲和亞洲地區運送淨水設備和營養補給品到馬尼拉。同時救難人員也將會陸續抵達菲律賓。
