中東戰雲密佈，以美國為首的西方聯軍，包括英國、法國等同盟，最快將於週四(29日)全力轟炸敘利亞50個軍事目標，針對敘利亞使用化武進行懲戒。中東戰鼓隆隆，股市也一併被嚇趴。而向來被投資人視為避險天堂的杜拜股市也承受不住沉重賣壓，27日狂洩7%，創下2009年來單日最大跌幅。但儘管如此，打從今(2013)年年初漲幅已經超過60%的中東股市，仍然是全球股市最亮眼的新星。

《CNNMoney》報導，杜拜股市今年已經狂漲了60%，而且這個數字還是扣掉27日重挫的6%；阿布達股市比漲了50%；科威特股市也飆升了30%。阿曼王國和卡達則是分別都漲了20%。這些股市表現驚人，但敘利亞戰鼓卻一棒把美夢敲醒，其中尤屬杜拜市場傷亡最慘重。

當全球正飽受經濟成長放緩之苦時，中東經濟可說是一枝獨秀。它不像新興市場如印度、中國、俄國一樣停滯不前，而是以一個穩定、健康的腳步成長，吸引全球投資人帶入大量資金。

杜拜、阿布 達比不動產成長力道強勁，吸引大量海外資金；科威特則是企業營收表現好，政府也砸下重金興建基礎建設。但部份經濟學家卻擔憂中東股市漲過頭，目前敘利亞戰火勢必拉回漲幅，因為這是自2011年阿拉伯之春以來，對中東市場最嚴重的威脅。

而嚴重的還不只有這樣。敘利亞盟友伊朗警告美國和西方聯軍，若歐美真的揮軍，伊朗將會攻擊以色列作為報復。伊朗半官方傳媒法斯社引述國會議員哈基卡普爾表示，「若美國向敘利亞發動軍事行動，區內革命者的憤怒之火會指向以色列。」 伊朗最高精神領袖哈梅內伊昨日也警告，美國向利亞發動軍事行動，將為整個中東地區帶來災難，他形容中東地區是軍火庫，未來難以預料。

近年來，波灣國家大量吸引海外資金，其中杜拜更是「吸金大老」。但是眼下中東前景堪慮，資金大舉撤出，原本表現相對抗跌的中東股市也不再安全。此外，那些向杜拜當地券商融資的散戶也因帳戶內資產價值下降，導致保證金不足，以致被迫賣出手中資產以達到保證金要求(Margin Requirement)。

雖然中東情勢緊張導致股市一片殺聲隆隆，仍有分析師指出，中東經濟的基本面仍然良好，而許多市場後續的潛力被低估了，包括杜拜、沙烏地阿拉伯和卡達。目前投資人大多都持觀望狀態，等到局勢明確再進一步動作。分析師指出，等戰事過去，中東市場後續反彈可期，投資人不妨抓緊時機，逢低買進。
