【周佩萱╱綜合外電報導】芥末醬瓶中，竟暗藏多達30片玻璃碎片，英國一名68歲老婦，不知情吃下，最後居然因此身亡。
 
這起事故發生在今年3月14日，住在英國柏克郡的菲威斯里，那天在家享用牛排大餐，佐以英式芥末醬，吃到一半時喉嚨開始腫脹，導致她呼吸困難，先生描述當時情況表示：「她捉住自己的喉嚨，說嘴巴裡有一片玻璃，接著她把玻璃拿出來，看起來長逾3公分」，老婦在慌亂之下奪門而出倒在車道上，先生立刻報警求救，老婦送醫發現玻璃割破動脈，入院數天後宣告不治。
 
警方隨即展開調查，發現玻璃碎片來自芥末醬瓶中，但芥末醬瓶身完好如初，而且家中也沒有任何玻璃碎裂，無法判定玻璃碎片是從哪來，加上芥末醬瓶外的標籤已經老舊磨損，而且標籤和內容物也不符合，無法得知是從何購入，最後警方以意外死亡結案。

【陳亮諭／綜合報導】美國聯邦準備理事會（Federal Reserve，Fed）副主席葉倫（Janet Yellen）明年1月可望接掌Fed，是市場呼聲甚高的強力人選，也是Fed成立百年以來首位女主席；美股收盤漲跌互見，道指反彈26點。

在溫和鴿派繼續當家下，葉倫對QE（Quantitative Easing，量化寬鬆貨幣政策）的觀念也近似目前 Fed 主席柏南克，穩固道瓊工業指數和標準普爾500指數收紅。

美國股市
道瓊工業平均指數小漲 26.45 點或 0.18％ 至 14803.00。
Nasdaq 指數下跌 17.06 點或 0.46% 至 3677.78。
S&P 500 指數揚升 0.95 點或 0.06% 至 1656.40。
費城半導體指數挫低 1.71 點或 0.35% 至 485.11。
